About Stuart Robertson

Stuart has been Director of the Charles Rennie Mackintosh Society since 2001. He has a varied and extensive role in promoting the Society around the world, developing the membership and running The Mackintosh Church as a quality visitor centre. He produces and edits the Society’s bi-annual Journal and along with Trish Ingram arranges a programme of both incoming and outgoing tours for both study and general interest of places associated with Charles Rennie Mackintosh and his contemporaries.

Stuart also Chairs the Mackintosh Heritage Group, which fulfils an important co-ordinating role for the city’s Mackintosh collections and sites. Recent initiatives have included the Legacy Leaflet, Mackintosh Trail Ticket, upgrade to the Mackintosh website and the Mackintosh Festival. The group is currently developing a 5 year plan and work has begun in connection with developing a bid to UNESCO for World Heritage Status for the city’s Mackintosh buildings. Stuart is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
